The Nigerian Labour Congress, its sister union the Trade Union Congress and the Civil Society Organisations this morning made good its decision to defy the Federal Government as they poured into the streets to protest the high fuel price and the hardship occasioned by this.

The Labour unions and the Civil Society are at the moment marching towards Ikeja from the Yaba office of the NLC and are close to Maryland.

The protest in Lagos  is led by one of the NLC’s deputy president  and the union said they are not disrupting movement by motorist and other road users and that they are only out to sensitise Nigerians on the hardship being foisted on them by the present government.

Daily Sun can authoritatively report that the strike is on and the protest is progressing as members of the Nigeria Police are watching the protest from the side line.
