Following the gruesome murder of Fahim Saleh, who founded the Nigerian ride-sharing app, Gokada, the personal assistant of the 33-year-old tech entrepreneur has allegedly been arrested in connection with the murder.

The suspect, identified by The New York Times as Tyrese Devon Haspil, 21, is expected to be charged in the murder.

The New York Times reported that he killed Saleh after Saleh discovered he stole from him. However, Saleh did not report the theft to the police and created a repayment plan for the cash to be returned.

It is alleged that Saleh was killed a day before the body was found on Tuesday. The suspect is also alleged to have used Saleh’s credit cards to pay for cleaning equipment used in sanitizing the crime scene.

He allegedly used a Taser to paralyze Saleh before stabbing him after following him to his apartment dressed in a black three-piece suit.

It was speculated that his work in dismembering Saleh’s body was stopped when Saleh’s sister arrived at the apartment forcing him to flee the crime scene.

Recall that Saleh’s dismembered body was found by his sister in his New York apartment, also found at the scene was an electric saw believed to have been used to dismember his body.

However, a spokesman for the New York Police Department has disputed the report.

“Last I was told, we don’t have anyone in custody. There is no arrest. I don’t know where they’re getting the information from” police spokesman Sergeant Vincent Marchese said.
