499 new cases of the COVID 19 pandemic were recorded in Nigeria on Thursday bringing the total number of infections in the country to 30,748.
This figure was confirmed by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet late on Thursday.

The new infections were recorded in 22 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
As always, Lagos State led with 157 new infections. This brings the total infections in the state to 11, 827.
Lagos was followed by Edo with 59, Ondo 56, Oyo 31, Akwa Ibom 22, Borno 21, Plateau 19, Kaduna and Katsina with 18 each, Bayelsa and the FCT recorded 17 each, while Delta had 14 cases.
Others are Kano with 11 new cases, Rivers 10, Enugu eight, Ogun six, Kwara four, Imo three, Nasarawa, and Osun with two cases each, while Abia, Ekiti, Niger, and Yobe have one each.
The specialized health agency also disclosed that a total of 12,546 patients have recovered and have been discharged, while the country’s death toll stands at 689.
