President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday observed the Eid-el-Fitr prayers with members of his immediate family at Aso Rock Presidential villa, Abuja.

Recall there have been numerous calls for Muslim faithfuls to observe Eid prayers at home to avoid mass incubation of Covid-19 infections in the country.

Infact, Buhari had said he will not be welcoming guests for any Sallah homage on the occasion of this year’s celebrations, a departure from decades-old practice at the Villa, thanks to the rampaging coronavirus.

However, while the social distancing arrangement for the prayer was in order,  some Nigerians have  however criticized President Buhari and the first lady, Aisha for not masking up despite months of campaign on the importance of wearing face mask.

Social distancing protocol has also been preached by the World Health Organisation and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
