Four people have reportedly died from coronavirus in Yobe state.

This was revealed by the state’s COVID-19 Committee on Prevention and Control announced the development in Damaturu on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Vice-Chairman of the Committee who also doubled as the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana disclosed that 20 coronavirus cases have so far been recorded in the state.

‘As of today, we have 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4 people have died from the disease three died here in Damaturu, while one died at Nguru isolation center.yobe

However, all the people that died are from suspected cases because samples were earlier collected and then sent for testing but the test results came after they had died. Almost all of them had underlying chronic illnesses’ he said.

Recall that a wave of strange deaths that has since seen 68 people lost their lives in Potiskum, Yobe State, while Gana has revealed that the government was investigating the causes of the strange deaths.
