The motion picture industry in Nigeria has been thrown into mourning again with the death of veteran actress and filmmaker Chizoba Boye. It was gathered that the actress died after a brief illness.

Her demise was announced by renowned film critic and the regional representative for West Africa of the Pan-African Federation of Filmmakers (FEPACI), Madu Chikwendu on a Filmmakers WhatsApp group called Film4Life.

Chizoba Boye, who is the wife of veteran filmmaker, Sam Boye, was a regular face on television series, ‘Tinsel’, and was aged 52 when she passed.

The couple recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.

Late Chizoba, a strong advocate for Nollywood Igbo, would be remembered for her pioneering role in ‘Living in Bondage,’ 

‘Checkmate,’ ‘Scandals’ among others.

Recall that several prominent Nollywood actors like Jennifer Omole, Toyosi Arigbabuwo, Frank Dallas, Kayode Odumosu ‘Pa Kasumu’, Gbenga Ajumoko, Mathew Alkali and Yomi Obileye have all passed on to the great beyond so far in 2020.
