Another Prominent Monarch Dies In Kano

Another traditional ruler in the ancient city of Kano, the Dan Iyan of Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Bayero is dead.

Bayero who died on Saturday was the district head of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.

The monarch was said to be the first district head Ajingi Local Government Area.

The cause of his death is still unknown, but Kano has been rattled by mass deaths in the last one month, especially among its aged population.

Last week, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 linked the mass deaths in the second most populous state in the country to coronavirus infections, something the Kano state government is contending.
