Emir of Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State, Alhaji Mohammed Asha, died on Sunday.

His death came three days after he went into isolation for suspected coronavirus.

The result of his sample sent to Abuja was still being awaited when he died.

However, officials are suspecting Asha died of Covid-19 complications, pending the outcome of his test result.

The deceased was in isolation at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, the capital.

The Publicity Secretary for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19 in the state, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura, said officials are still awaiting the Emir’s test results from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control before going ahead with the his burial rites.
