  • National Tally Stands At 1,337

Nigeria’s epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic–Lagos has recorded marginal drops in its number of confirmed infections in the last three days.

Of the 64 cases announced in the country Monday, Lagos recorded 34, but that marks a relative decline in cases as against the numbers declared last week.

On Saturday, Lagos recorded its first drop in infections with 33 confirmed cases; it moved up again on Sunday with 43 cases and moved downward again to 34 cases Monday.

This represents a cheering news from the over 280 cases it ramp up in five days last week, coinciding with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to unlock the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja on Monday, 4th of May.

On Monday, the State discharged another 15 coronavirus survivors after they tested negative twice.

This brings to 143, the number of patients discharged by the state so far, according to the NCDC.

The State has also recorded 19 deaths and has 603 active cases to manage.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Coronavirus infections have reached 1,337, with 64 new cases announced on Monday.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, recorded 15 new cases, Borno 11, Taraba and Gombe 2 each.

“On the 27th of April 2020, 64 new confirmed cases and no deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“Till date, 1,337 cases have been confirmed, 255 cases have been discharged and 40 deaths have been recorded in 32 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 64 new cases are reported from five states- Lagos (34), FCT (15), Borno (11), Taraba (2), Gombe (2).

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” NCDC said on its website.
