Four religious leaders including a pastor and three Imam have been reportedly sentenced to one-month imprisonment or an option of N5000 fine for violating the lockdown order in the capital city Abuja.
They were reportedly convicted for holding services in theirĀ establishments despite the lockdown order in Abuja.
Others allegedly sentenced include Imam Abdullahi Mohammed, in Gwarimpa Estate, Ā Imam Suleiman Idris, Mobi close, Area 11, Garki and Deputy Imam Useni Umar, in Ā Mobi close, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.
Presiding Magistrate Idayat Akonni who was said to haveĀ handed down the sentences at the Eagle square Mobile court on Sunday in Abuja said the sentences were in lline with the breaches committed by the affected persons
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier announcedĀ 14-day lockdowns in the three areas Abuja, Lagos and Ogun which began on March 30 and further extended till date.
