American Popstar, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has given out over $6 million as relief efforts to cushion the effect of coronavirus in various communities. The funds when estimated using Google Universal Currency Converter, comes to approximately N2.3bn in Nigerian local currency (Naira).

The singer would be doling out the huge funds through the BeyGOOD Foundation, in partnership with Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s Start Small fund. The funds would be channeled through, and  released to different organizations.

Beyonce has been variously described as one-half of a power couple, who dominates the music industry, and embodies female empowerment. In recent times, her net worth estimates  have  been  projected  to be about  $400 million, according to Forbes.

The BeyGOOD Foundation explained the donation in a statement; “Our major cities, African-Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis.”
