Bayelsa state assures corp members of payment of allowances as Corp members laud governor Dickson.

The Bayelsa State Government has assured batch A members of the 2016 National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) that all their allowances will be paid to them in no distant time. Commissioner for Information, Jonathan Obuebite gave the assurance while addressing some corp members in Yenagoa shortly after they passed out of the scheme today.

He said the delay in the payment is not unconnected to the paucity of funds as a result of the dwindling resources occasioned by the crisis in the international oil market which the federal government is yet to find a solution to.

Obuebite announced to the outgoing corp members that Governor Seriake Dickson as a way to cushion their plight has approved the immediate payment of five thousand naira as their transport ‎fare back to their respective states pending when they would receive their outstanding allowances.

The Information Commissioner thanked them for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner throughout their stay in the state and urged them to continue to be good ambassadors in order to fulfill their ambitions.
