The sacking of the prestigious and most revered Emir of Kano was announced at a special sitting of the Kano State executive council (EXCO) presided over by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state. This may have momentarily brought to an epic climax the raging feud between the State governor and the emir.

This was premised on alleged petitions by some groups. The groups which allegedly filed the petition are Kano State for Promotion of Education and Culture and Mohammed Mukthar Ja’en Yamma, Gwale local government.
