The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, (CON) has expressed grief over the passage of his former Commissioner and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Anthony Chucks.

Obuh who was born on 27th January, 1957 died in the early hours of Thursday at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu after a protracted illness.

Dr. Uduaghan in a statement released by his Media Assistant, Mr. Monoyo Edon said: “as an experienced retired civil servant, Mr. Obuh started working with Dr. Uduaghan first as Director in the SSG’s office and then as Permanent Secretary, Government House and Protocol. He thereafter resigned his position to contest the Governorship election in 2014.

“After an unsuccessful attempt, he was appointed Commissioner for Special Duties until the end of Dr. Uduaghan’s administration.

“In the past few years, he had been battling with a protracted illness for which he had sought medical solutions both in Nigeria and overseas.

“He was a highly effective and efficient technocrat, hard working, dedicated, and very humble.”

The news of Obuh’s death threw many people into a state of shock and disbelief. Many took to Facebook to express their condolences.

As permanent secretary at the office of the SSG and later permanent secretary Government House, Delta State, Obuh related with likeable disposition and professional prowess with many people.

Obuh who died at the age of sixty two was until his death, the Chairman of Delta State Pensions Board.

Dr. Uduaghan also prayed for the repose of his soul, asking for the grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss on behalf of family members and  associates.
