  • Reassure of commitment to implementation of next level agenda

Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege and ten APC governors were at the country home of President Muhammadu Buhari, Daura, Katsina, to felicitate with him on the occasion of the Sallah celebration.

Among the governors who, along with Omo-Agege visited the President, are the chairman of APC Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Mohammad Badaru (Jigawa) and Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna).

Others are Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Gboyega Oyetola (Osun).

Also in attendance was the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha.

Fielding questions from journalists, during the visit, the Deputy President of the Senate, Omo-Agege, said that apart from visiting to felicitate with Mr. President, they have also come to reassure him of their commitment to the implementation of the next level agenda of the government.

Said he: “We felt it is right since the Senate President is far away in Saudi offering prayers for this country and the leadership.

We are here representing the Senate President and the senate to extend felicitations to Mr President as we celebrate Sallah.”

Omo-Agege also explained that they were in Daura to represent the Senate President who is currently in Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage and the Senate to felicitate with the President.

“We felt it is right since the Senate President is far away in Saudi offering prayers for this country and the leadership.

“We are here representing the Senate President and the senate to extend felicitations to Mr President as we celebrate Sallah.

“You know, it has not been very easy for us as a country in terms of the challenges we face. Notwithstanding, Mr. President has managed to steer the ship of state very successfully.

“We came here to congratulate him and also to reassure him that going forward the National Assembly, most especially the Senate that we are ready to provide enabling environment for the content of the next level agenda be implemented.”
