Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State on Thursday sacked all the serving permanent secretaries in the state civil service.
The Public Relation officer to the Office Head of Service confirmed that Kano State had 33 permanent secretaries manning several ministries, agencies, and parastatals.
A statement signed by Auwalu Muhammad Naiya and obtained by our source directed them to hand over to the most senior director in their respective ministries, agencies and parastatals.
The Head of the service, therefore, directed all the affected staff to hand over on or before May 8th to most senior Directors.
Naniya in the statement explained that the move was in line with Ganduje’s administration resolve to reinvigorated top echelons of Kano civil service.
The statement further explained, “in line with the present administration resolve to vigorously pursue/implement the regime initiatives embarked upon since its inception, and cognizant of the need to further ensure greater efficiency in service, as well as reinvigorate the top echelons of the civil service”.
He, however, enjoined sacked officials, and any interested Director to reapply/ apply for the vacant post by attaching their Curriculum vitae.
