As he inaugurated a large Campaign Council to steer the ship of his quest for a second tenure as Senator representing Delta Central in the Senate come 2019, today, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has called on the Urhobo people to make a wise choice for a man who has a clear chance of becoming a ranking Senator and possess the ability of attracting more dividends of democracy to the people.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of APC supporters in the Ughelli Kingdom Hall, Ughelli, Delta State on Tuesday during the inauguration, Senator Omo-Agege charged the members of the Campaign Council to take their appointments seriously, adding that the Urhobos stand the chance of having a ranking Senator in the Red Chamber, if he Sen. Omo-Agege is voted for and returned to the Senate.  “Your job, the job of this Campaign Council is to go to the units, wards, those area where the State Campaign Council cannot get to, and tell them about the party’s monumental performance”, Senator Omo-Agege said.

The Senator also took time off to reel out the performances of the APC government and its positive impact on Delta Central, adding that the Buhari-led APC government through the instrumentality of the NDDC, has constructed more roads in Delta Central and indeed, Delta State than the Delta State government.

Said he: “We have every reason to be proud.  There is no reason to be tongued-tied; Buhari has performed well.  You should feel very proud to look at the people eye ball to eye ball, that Nigeria is much better today than it was under the previous administration.

Speaking further, the Senator noted that “the Nigerian Senate is not a tea party”, adding that  “it is not a place for beauty pageants, nor a place for girls or boys but a place for real men.”

He said: “And when you are at it, tell them that to be a Senator representing the Urhobo nation in the Senate is not a tea party.  The Nigerian Senate is not for beauty pageants; the Nigerian Senate is a place for serious business; it is not a place for girls; it is not a place for boys;  but it is a place for statements, it is a place real men.

Senator Omo-Agege also assured the people not to be afraid or scared in casting their votes, adding that this time around the party has the ability to protect the peoples’ votes unlike in 2015 just as he urged the people to ensure they cast their votes for President Muhammadu Buhari for president, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru for governorship, himself for Senate and other candidates of the party in the coming election.

Also speaking at the occasion, the APC State chairman, Prophet Jones Erue urged party members to go back home and mobilize the people from the unit level, urging them to go from door to door to preach the message of APC to them.

The enlarged Ovie Omo-Agege Campaign Council, which the Senator said will complement the activities of the State Campaign Council due to be inaugurated soonest, has Chief Francis Atanomeyovwi as the Director General while Efe Duku is to serve as the Secretary General among others.

The Council also has an enlarged Elder Advisory Council headed by Chief Samuel Oteheri, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, Engr. Elvis Ayomanor, Chief Frank Kokori, Chief Richard Odibo, among others.
