The constant foul crying of the national leadership of the main opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has been described as a sign of fear of the party’s own ghost.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Rivers state, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who made the observation in a statement in Port Harcourt on Saturday, noted that the constant writing of alarm letters by the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, to international bodies, raising the alarm over alleged plots to rig the 2019 general elections by the ruling party only indicates that the opposition party is paranoid.

The  PDP National Chairman, in his latest letter to the European Union (EU), attempted to discredit Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),  in his characteristic way, declaring that the 2019 general elections are under serious threat and that the ruling APC and the federal government are not disposed to conducting a free and fair poll.

However, in his statement, Chief Eze noted that the panic being exhibited by the opposition and its leaders was as a response to the sort of terror and rape they had subjected the Nigerian electorate to in their 16 years reign, during which they refused Nigeria to have a free, fair and acceptable election, using rigging, brigandage and sheer brute force to perpetuate themselves on the people.

The party chieftain however pointed out that the current APC-led federal government, under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, contrary to the wrong impression being peddled by the PDP, is determined to give Nigeria one of its most credible elections so far.

He rather charged all interested persons and organizations to pay more attention to the conduct of the opposition party, before and during the elections, as they are most certain to exhibit their default violent nature in an effort to compromise the credibility of the polls next year.

“It is unfortunate and sad that a leader of the status of Secondus could not see anything good and hope for our nation, but take pleasure in presenting the nation before the international community as a collapsing nation” Eze said.

Hereiterated that if Secondus and Governor Nyesom Wike have ruined PDP to the extent that its afraid to face APC in the 2019 general elections,  he should step aside and allow capable hands to reposition the party to play its statutory role as an opposition political party than the party is not sure of making any impact during the forthcoming election.

He explained further that Prince Uche Secondus is among those that don’t want to the National Assembly to reconvene in order to approve the INEC budget, which will enable the body conduct the election accordingly.

“This devious plot against the nation by the PDP elements notwithstanding,  INEC and the federal government have reassured Nigerians that the election will hold as scheduled,  what other assurance does Prince Uche Secondus and PDP need to face the election that will expose its present sorrow state” he queried.

Chief Eze, however, encouraged INEC not to be distracted by the antics of PDP and go ahead to shame PDP and her promoters by conducting a very credible election come 2019
