Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the forthcoming general elections, the Senator representing Delta Central in the National Assembly, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has assured that the party is poised to field the best candidate for the governorship election irrespective of the senatorial district such candidate emerges from in the primaries.

Omo-Agege who stated this in Ughelli today (01/09/18) while teeing off his consultation visits to ward and LGA party executives, seeking their support for a second tenure in the Senate, noted that the party was prepared to project the best material as governorship candidate notwithstanding whether such candidate is from Delta North, Delta South or Delta Central, adding that the primaries would be thrown open without exclusion and whoever wins it will becomes the party’s governorship candidate for the 2019 election.

Earlier, Senator Omo-Agege has declared his intention to contest the Delta Central Senatorial seat for the second time, calling on the party’s leadership at the ward and Local Government that were gathered from Ughelli North Local Government Area who are delegates in the forthcoming party’s primary to support for him the senatorial ticket even as he assured that the Urhobo nation, as usual, will not be disappointed.

In reaction to the declaration of interest by Senator Omo-Agege for a second term, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru who accompanied the Senator into the venue, moved a voice vote for those who supports his (Omo-Agege’s) second term in office and this received overwhelming ayes.

The Senator’s consultation train proceeded to Otu-Jeremi, headquarters of Ughelli South Local Government Area as well as Otor-Udu, headquarters of Udu Local Government Area, where he met with the ward, Local Government and leaders of the APC in that area.

Omo-Agege delivered the message to the thousands of party faithful who defied the rain to express their support for the Senator.  He urged those who are going to be delegates for the primary to make a good choice, assuring that the Urhobo people do not need a coward to represent them in the red chambers of the National Assembly.
