Chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Dino Melaye (APC,Kogi) has narrated how he was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja this morning.

In a phone interview, Melaye who was declared wanted last month by the Police in a phone interview said he was on his way to Morocco when he was arrested.

” I was at the Airport lounge when they called me that my attention was needed by the officials of the Immigration. When I got there, they told me I’m under arrest on the request of the Police, ” he said.

He said the Immigration officials showed him an instruction on his arrest.

Melaye who spoke with Daily Trust, said that he was still at the airport in the custody of the Immigration officials.

He said he was on his way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the federal government.

Also, Nigerian immigration has confirmed the arrest claiming it was in line with its normal routine check for travellers.
