Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has fired a powerful salvo at political actors allegedly planning to subvert the democratic process in the state.

This is as the Governor warned that anyone planning to rig elections in Abia should “write their will.”

Otti also warned politicians planning to manipulate the 2027 governorship election to abandon such ideas, saying the will of God and the people will decide the outcome.

The governor made the remarks on Thursday during the October edition of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians, held at the Government House in Umuahia.

Otti said while he has no problem with anyone contesting, those plotting to rig the election should be ready to face the consequences.

“I have heard that some people around him say Oh, they must take over this state, they must write results but the only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time.

“You know what it is? Their will,” Otti said.

The New Diplomat reports that Otti’s statement comes after Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu had vowed that the All Progressives Congress would “take Abia from Otti” in the 2027 elections.
