It has just come to light that “European-American University” has disavowed the honorary doctorate it putatively conferred on iconic pro-regime Hausa praise-singer Dauda Kahuta Rarara. Now pause for a moment and savor the hysterical absurdity of what just happened.

The European-American University is itself a well-known, textbook-case example of a fake university. When a fake university that bestows fake degrees for a living disowns a fake honorary doctorate given to a fake scholar, that’s some truly mind-numbingly blinding fakeness overload! 🤣

Even if the “doctorate” had been given with the school’s full blessing, it would still be fake, because the university itself is fake. It’s an unaccredited, pay-to-play, fraudulent online scam operation.

That’s like 419 fraudsters in a police cell accusing each other of being dishonest. Or like a roadside mechanic with no tools disowning a fake “engineer” certificate he issued to an okada rider.

The comedy writes itself: when a “university” (we call them diploma or degree mills here in the US) that exists only on a dodgy website distances itself from a degree it never legitimately had the right to give in the first place, it’s fakeness on fakeness on fakeness. It’s the academic equivalent of a counterfeit naira note rejecting another counterfeit naira note as fake.

Look, I enjoy Rarara’s music, even though I don’t always agree with it. It’s my guilty pleasure. I love its lyricism, rhythmicity, cadence, creativity, and danceability.

Someone with such creativity, fame, and wealth should have someone in his employ to warn him not to embarrass himself by accepting the fake version of a fake degree from a by-definition fake university.
