The deputy governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, recently met with members of the Delta community in Atlanta, United States, during a reception held in his honour.
The event, hosted by Mr. Kingsley Dike and his wife Tilda, provided an opportunity for interaction between the deputy governor and Deltans in the diaspora. Onyeme who was accompanied by his wife, Ezinne Catherine Onyeme, and their children, was full of joy and enthusiasm on meeting the Delta community in Atlanta.
Speaking at the gathering, Onyeme reiterated the commitment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration to delivering durable infrastructure and promoting human capital development under its MORE Agenda.
He highlighted ongoing projects, including the construction of roads and bridges, as well as efforts to provide electricity to Ndokwa nation.
Members of the community commended Onyeme for his humility and openness during the exchange. A token gift was presented to him by Chief Paul Okoku, a member of the Nigerian national soccer team that won the silver medal at the 1984 African Cup of Nations.
Other notable attendees included Professor Juliet Elu of Morehouse College, Chief Collins Odinjor and his wife Alero, Mr. Raymond Ekurhare, Chief Emeka Chimekwene, Mr. Frederick Ogodo and his wife Henrietta, Attorney Ani and his wife Christabel, Mr. Valentine Egbune, Ms. Ndidi Ogwu, Dr. Gerald Dariah, and Mr. Ejiro Ineneji.
