The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the release of admission lists for Federal Unity Colleges across the country, following what ot called the full automation of the placement process to enhance transparency, efficiency, and capacity management.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the current exercise covers 80 conventional Federal Unity Colleges for Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1).
According to the statement admissions for the remaining 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme will be announced at a later date.
The ministry said the automation helps to ensure that all admissions are strictly aligned with each school’s approved capacity, eliminating previous challenges of overcrowding. Minister of State for Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, described the reform as a key step in guaranteeing fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in the Unity Colleges.
Similarly, Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, Director of Senior Secondary Education, praised the initiative, calling it a “game-changer” that will create a better learning environment for students.
The ministry noted that the new system is expected to streamline the admission process, improve accountability, and uphold educational standards nationwide. Parents, guardians, and students have been advised to check admission results on the ministry’s official website: www.education.gov.ng.
Reaffirming its commitment to quality education, the ministry said it remains dedicated to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for every Nigerian child.
