The Nigerian Army has announced a fresh round of postings in its high command, with new General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Principal Staff Officers, and heads of key formations taking office.
Major General Chinedu Nnebeife has been appointed GOC 2 Division, Ibadan, while Major General A.S.K. Wase takes over as GOC 1 Division, Kaduna.
Other strategic changes include Major General M.O. Erebelu as Provost Marshal, and Major General A.A. Idris as Chief of Military Intelligence, Vanguard reported.
At the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Major General J.E. Osifo is now Director-General, while Major General A.A. Adeyinka has been named Chief of Logistics at Army Headquarters.
The redeployment also saw Major General Adetoba posted to the Nigerian Army College of Logistics Management, with former intelligence chief Major General Ugiagbe reassigned as Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation. In addition, Major General Akesode has been designated head of the Monitoring, Verification and Compliance Mission in Ethiopia’s Tigray Region, and Major General M.T. Abdullahi now leads the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Centre.
The new appointments take effect between August 19 and 25.
