President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday revealed that he didn’t watch the live match of the 2024 WAFCON final between Nigeria and Morocco.

Tinubu, who was speaking while receiving the Super Falcons team at the Presidential Villa on Monday said he avoided watching the WAFCON final live because he didn’t want to trigger his blood pressure.

He said the tension was too much to bear. He stated: “I didn’t want to watch the match initially because I don’t want high blood pressure. My wife was cooking my food in the kitchen, rushed out to tell me we had won”

The New Diplomat reports that this comes after the Super Falcons defeated Morocco in a dramatic 3-2 comeback over Morocco.

Morocco led Nigeria in the first half with a scoreline of 2-0. However, the Super Falcons responded in the second half, netting three times to ensure they won the WAFCON title for the 10th time.
