The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the inauguration of its screening and appeal committees ahead of the forthcoming bye-election across the country

The inauguration of the committees is scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2025, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The committees, tasked with evaluating aspirants vying for seats in the Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly, will commence their work at 9 a.m. at the party’s headquarters.

This was contained in a press statement issued on Saturday.

The Senate screening committee, which covers the Edo Central senatorial district and the Anambra South senatorial district, has Ibrahim Shema as chairman and Sani Danjuma as secretary.

The Senate Screening Appeal Committee consists of Dan Abia as chairman and Eugene Dibogwu as secretary.

The House of Representatives screening committee I covers Ovia South-West/Ovia South-East federal constituency (Edo), and Ibadan North federal constituency (Oyo).

Its members include Waziri Bulama as chairman and Adebayo Daodu as secretary.

The House of Representatives screening committee II covers Babura/Garki federal constituency in Jigawa, Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo north federal constituency (Ogun), and Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency (Kaduna).

The committee’s members include Umar Sarkii, who is chairman, and Margaret Duru, who is secretary.

The House of Representatives screening appeal committee includes Namdas Abdurazak as chairman and Ebele Obi as secretary.

The state house of assembly screening committee I covers the Zaria Kewaye state constituency in Kaduna, Bagwai/Shanono state constituency (Kano), Mariga state constituency (Niger), Karim Lamido I state constituency (Taraba), and Kaura Namoda south state constituency (Zamfara). The members include Dorah Ebon as chairman and Chukwudi Kanu as secretary.

The state house of assembly screening committee II covers Ganye state constituency (Adamawa), Onitsha north state constituency (Anambra), Basawa state constituency (Kaduna), and Dekina/Okura state constituency (Kogi). The members include Saidou Dakingari as chairman and Chika Ezenwarka as secretary.

The state house of assembly screening appeal committee includes Ikechukwu Umeh as chairman, and Gloria Amiduallahi as secretary.

According to the APC, these committees are designed to uphold the party’s commitment to transparency and merit-based selection, ensuring only candidates who meet constitutional and ethical standards secure the party’s tickets.
