The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South geopolitical zone has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The endorsement was announced during a high-profile stakeholders’ interactive session held at the weekend in Benin City, Edo State.
The event, attended by prominent APC figures including Governor Bassey Edet of Cross River State, who doubles as the South-South APC Coordinator, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, drummed support for Tinubu’s leadership.
The Governors while praising what they called Tinubu’s transformative policies, citing initiatives such as the student loan scheme, tax exemptions for low-income earners, and ongoing infrastructure projects as evidence of his administration’s impact, in the SouthvSouth geo-political zone canvassed support for Tinubu’s re-‘election.
A communique issued at the end of the meeting and read by Chief Victor Giadom, APC National Vice Chairman, South-South, was far-reaching. Earlier on, a motion for the adoption of the Communique was moved by the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Professor Julius Ihonvbere, and seconded by the senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, with the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, presiding.
