Air Peace airline has announced a disruption of its flight schedules following a collision with a bird by one of its aircraft on its Lagos-Owerri route

The airline stressed that the development necessitated an immediate return of the affected flight to the airport for safety checks.

While informing passengers about the incident, the airline called for their patience and understanding over the attendant inconvenience.

A statement by the airline’s management reads: “We regret to inform our valued passengers of ongoing flight disruptions on some of our networks today.

“This morning, Flight P47150, operating the Lagos-Owerri route, experienced a bird strike and had to make an air return for safety checks.

“We sincerely empathize with our passengers over the inconvenience caused and appeal for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to minimize disruptions.

“Air Peace remains steadfast in upholding the highest safety standards, and the safety of our passengers and crew continues to be our top priority.”

This is the second time in a space of two months that the airline flight will experience bird strike.

Recall that a similar experience happened on May 11 when an Abuja bound Air Peace flight leaving the Muritala Muhammed Airport in Lagos collided with a bird.
