  • Iran Says, Israel has Sealed Bitter Destiny

Israel’s airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities on June 13, 2025, have ignited a firestorm of reactions from global powerhouses and leaders.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio are among the first leaders to react to the airstrikes that have reportedly killed several Iranian military officials.

Guterres, in his reaction, didn’t mince words, condemning Israel’s attacks as a dangerous escalation, particularly due to their targeting of nuclear sites during ongoing U.S.-Iran nuclear talks.

“Maximum restraint is essential to avoid a descent into deeper conflict,” Guterres declared, warning that the region “can hardly afford” further chaos.

Also, Rubio was quick to clarify that Israel acted alone, with no American involvement in the strikes. “Israel took unilateral action, believing it necessary for its self-defense,” Rubio stated, emphasizing that the US’s priority remains protecting its forces in the region.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei struck a defiant tone, promising that Israel “has sealed a bitter and painful destiny” for itself.

Similarly, China’s embassy in Iran called the situation in Iran severe and complex.

It urged Chinese citizens in the country to closely monitor developments and step up their security precautions.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in his reaction, said the country was closely monitoring the evolving situation.

It urged both sides to avoid escalation. He said India had “close and friendly” relations with both Israel and Iran.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the development.

It described the attack as blatant Israeli aggression, saying it undermines Iran’s sovereignty and security and constitutes a clear violation of international laws and norms.
