The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has launched a full-scale investigation into the dramatic confrontation between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District of Edo State at the Senate.

Keyamo, in a press statement issued on his official X handle, confirmed his direct engagement with both parties.

Urging calm amid escalating public accusations, he said he has directed aviation agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

“I have directed all aviation agencies to exercise restraint and adhere to the principle of hearing all sides before concluding,” the minister said.

This comes after Air Peace and Oshiomhole engaged in a war of words following an incident on Wednesday morning at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1, Zulu Hall.

In a strongly worded statement, Air Peace condemned Oshiomhole’s alleged “unruly conduct,” claiming he obstructed the terminal gate, disrupting operations and stranding other travelers.

However, Oshiomhole denied Air Peace’s claim, alleging that the airline prevented him and others from boarding despite completing online check-in.
