President Bola Tinubu on Thursday has stated that it’s not his duty to help settle the crisis rocking the opposition parties in the country.
Tinubu maintained that seeing the opposition in disarray gives him pleasure.
The Nigeria’s helmsman said this, on Thursday, while addressing a joint session of the National Assembly as part of events lined up to mark the 2025 Democracy Day.
He said, “I will not advise the opposition to put its house in order and I will not help them put their house in order. It is indeed a pleasure to see you in disarray,”
Tinubu’s remarks came on the heels of allegation by the opposition that his administration is plotting to turn the country into a one-party state.
The allegation was prompted by the recent developments on the political space, particularly the gale of defections sweeping through the opposition parties.
Prominent politicans from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and others have dumped their parties for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to swell its ranks and bolster the party’s grip on power.
