The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his determination to enforce rules regarding ground rent payments and other policies without fear or favour, stating that he takes delight in stepping on toes of big men.

Wike, who said that he is result-oriented, maintained that he would not allow class or status of purported wrong-doers to stand in the way of his goals.

The minister disclosed this during his monthly press briefing on Monday.

According to Wike, he enjoys stepping on the toes of the wealthy, not the poor people.

He said: “Look at what we are doing differently. I have found out that most of them didn’t have the courage to annoy people, to step on toes – I take joy when stepping on the toes of big men, those who say nothing will happen. I take joy in saying something will happen.

“It makes me happy. You want me to take decisions against the poor people while you, the rich man, think nothing will happen – something will happen. And that’s why we are getting results.

“The only person that I owe is Mr. President. This is what I’m doing because I have to support the government and make a difference.

He stressed that he remains a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“I’m in PDP, but when people don’t want to learn, impunity will kill you. I’m still in PDP and work hard for this party.”
