Mohammed Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment under the immediate past President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.

Abdullahi, a prominent APC chieftain and holder of the traditional title of Magajin Garin Uke announced his departure in a formal letter addressed to the APC chairman in Uke Ward, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to the letter dated June 1, 2025, the former minister cited personal reasons for his decision to leave the party.

Expressing gratitude for the support and cooperation he received throughout his tenure in the party, he acknowledged the contributions made towards the growth and development of APC in the state.

He said: “I thank you for the cooperation while I was in the APC, where we made modest contributions in building the party in the state.

The New Diplomat reports that Abdullahi has been actively engaging with important political figures in Nasarawa State with reports suggesting that he might announce his candidacy for the governorship in the 2027 general elections.
