Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has stated that there is no division in his family, dismissing allegations of ritual sacrifice from his daughter, Jane.
Eno maintained that the viral video which captured his daughter levelling allegations against him is a handiwork of his political detractors which is intended to distract him.
The governor spoke on Saturday night while addressing journalists in Uyo, the state capital, adding that he is focused and can’t be distracted.
Eno said: “My family is intact and you can see all of them here. The event you are talking about took place immediately my wife died last year, so why is it surfacing now on the eve of our second anniversary when we are celebrating the milestone we have achieved?
“That teaches me that there are detractors around. My family is intact, that’s Jane herself there. We are a good family.
“I can’t be detracted, I remain focused. I will continue to serve Akwa Ibom people.
“My family is intact. Even in politics, family should be off limits.”
Recall that one of the governor’s children, Jane, had accused him of attempting to use her for sacrifice.
In the footage, Jane said the governor should be held responsible if anything happened to her because she doesn’t want to die like her mother.
Jane had said she would not be a sacrifice like her mother and brother who died under suspicious circumstances.
