President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.

The Alaafin of Oyo, recently crowned as the 46th monarch of Oyo, arrived in Abuja on Thursday, May 15, 2025, ahead of the high-level meeting with Tinubu.

The monarch arrived at the Villa on Friday afternoon after the Jumaat prayers and was ushered in shortly after the President’s closed-door briefing with service chiefs and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

It was gathered that the meeting is focused on fostering collaboration between the federal government and traditional rulers to promote peace, cultural preservation, and socioeconomic progress.
