The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that it’s “illogical and baseless” to say he will defect to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Ganduje maintained that he is not planning to dump the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the later party as “dead”.

The APC National Chairman, who is also a former Kano governor, spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, in a press statement on Monday.

The statement was prompted by a comment attributed to a former Governor of Jigawa State and erstwhile foreign Affairs minister, Alhaji Sule Lamido to the effect that the APC will soon disintegrate and that those who previously left the PDP, including Ganduje, will return to the opposition party.

According to the statement, Ganduje said that he would be glad to welcome Lamido to the ruling party’s fold while giving his own prediction that the PDP will soon collapse.

The statement reads in part, “It is evident to any discerning observer that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC continues to gain momentum, with prominent political figures across the country defecting to the party in large numbers.

“With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general election.

“In fact we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go, the PDP is dead.”

He advised Lamido to focus on resolving the PDP’s internal crises instead of engaging in unfounded speculation.
