Edo State is buzzing with excitement as Governor Monday Okpebholo officially approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for civil servants.
The governor announced this on Thursday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City during the celebration of this year’s Workers’ Day.
The announcement triggered an outpouring of joy among Edo residents, particularly civil servants who were present at the event.
The Governor said the development is part of his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
He stated: “Today, I am proud to announce that our administration has approved a new minimum wage of Seventy Five Thousand Naira (N75,000) per. It’s our way of saying thank you.
“We believe this will make a real difference for Edo workers, and in return, we count on your renewed dedication as we build a better Edo together”.
