In a dramatic move, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State at the Senate, has arrived at her much-anticipated homecoming rally venue in Okehi Local Government Area by helicopter on Tuesday.

Arriving by helicopter, it appears Akpoti-Uduaghan strategically bypassed strict state regulations limiting vehicle convoys. He was accompanied by her billionaire husband, and Alema of Warri Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Her arrival comes despite warnings from the Kogi State Government and the state police command.

It would be recalled that the Kogi State Government on Monday announced a sweeping ban on rallies, public gatherings, and unauthorized security convoys, citing unspecified security threats.

Also, Amoka Monday, the Local Government Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area further escalated measures by imposing a 24-hour curfew, warning that violators would face arrest and prosecution.

The Kogi State Police Command, under Commissioner Miller Dantawaye, had explicitly called for the cancellation of the senator’s planned homecoming rally, citing intelligence reports of potential disruptions by hoodlums.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan, who has been at the centre of a political storm following her suspension from the Senate and an ongoing recall petition, arrived at the rally venue.

Touching down in a helicopter, she was greeted by thunderous cheers from thousands of supporters waving placards and chanting slogans of solidarity.
