Amid an ongoing recall efforts being spearheaded by some of her constituents, suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State has distributed 2,400 bags of grains to residents of her senatorial district.

This is coming as indications show that immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello may be the arrowhead of the ongoing moves to recall Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, and possibly take over her seat in the Senate. Both Natasha and Bello have always been in fierce political battles in Kogi State.

Meanwhile, Natasha’s current gesture comes as a petition for her recall was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday.

The distribution included 1,200 bags of beans and 1,200 bags of millet, aimed at alleviating economic hardship during the Ramadan season.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Press Secretary, Israel Arogbonlo, in a press statement, emphasized that the aid was extended to all constituents, regardless of political affiliation, as part of her commitment to supporting her community.

This move follows a tumultuous period for the senator, who is currently serving a six-month suspension from the Senate over allegations of gross misconduct.

It would be recalled also that the recall petition against Akpoti-Uduaghan, reportedly backed by 250,000 signatures from Kogi Central voters, cited dissatisfaction with her representation, with some constituents accusing her of “abuse of office” and “international embarrassment.”
