In what appears to be a desperate measure to retain its vast number of customers, Multichoice Nigeria has come up with an array of support packages.

The company’s move is aimed at easing the financial burden on DStv and GOtv subscribers after the recent tariff adjustments,

Recall that the pay-TV service provider, in a message to subscribers on Monday, announced that the new tariffs will take effect from March 1, 2024.

To mitigate the impact of the price hike, customers who renew their subscriptions before expiry will continue paying the old rates for a specified period as a reward for their loyalty.

Additionally, subscribers can benefit from the ongoing Step Up offer, which allows both active and disconnected DStv and GOtv users to automatically upgrade to a higher package when they renew on a package above their current subscription.

This offer, which began in January, will run until March 31.

As part of its relief measures, MultiChoice has also announced an upcoming subscription price reduction for Showmax, its streaming platform.

This will be revealed on February 28 and is expected to make access to live sports, movies, and general entertainment more affordable.

The new pricing structure for DStv and GOtv is as follows:

DStv Compact: N19,000

DStv Compact Plus: N30,000

DStv Premium: N44,500

GOtv Supa: N16,800

GOtv Supa+ (New package): N11,400

GOtv Max: N8,500

GOtv Jinja: N3,900
