In a vibrant display of joy and charisma, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, often referred to as the “Dancing Governor,” celebrated the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) sweeping victory in the recent local government elections held on February 22, 2025.

The elections, which saw the PDP clinching all 30 local government areas, have sparked a wave of reactions across social media, particularly as a video emerged showcasing Adeleke in his signature dance moves.

The video captured the governor grooving to music in an energetic manner during the swearing-in of the newly elected local government chairmen and councillors.

Many have described the dance as a message to the opposition party in Osun State after a wave of tension and crisis that took the state by storm in the buildup to the local government election.

It would be recalled that opposition voices, particularly from the All Progressives Congress (APC), have questioned the legitimacy of the elections, labelling them a “sham”.

The Osun State chapter of the APC had also accused Adeleke of allegedly disregarding a prior Court of Appeal ruling that reinstated APC-aligned council chairmen.
