Fresh details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Alfred Okyere, a 23-year-old international student from Ghana.
Reports show that the demise of Okyere has been making headlines due to the circumstances surrounding his death.
Alexander Osei-Owusu, a close family friend of Okyere, shared the heartbreaking news that his friend had tragically lost his life just one week into starting a part-time job in Saskatoon, Canada.
Osei-Owusu, who spoke with the press, revealed that Okyere had arrived in the city four months prior, in September 2024, with aspirations of building a better life.
He added that Okyere was employed at DSI Underground Canada, a mining supply company, where he was allegedly stabbed by a co-worker, leading to his death.
“As many students these days, everybody is trying to find work here and there to get something to support education,” Osei-Owusu said.
Meanwhile, the police have confirmed the murder of Okyere.
In a news release, police said they were called to the facility at 8 p.m. CST.
The release reads in part: “Upon arrival, Police located a 23-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds.
“He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”
