The UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off draw for the 2024/25 season has been officially confirmed, setting the stage for exciting two-legged matches in February 2025.

The draw marks the beginning of the knockout phase for teams that finished between 9th and 24th in the league phase.

These play-offs will determine which eight teams advance to join the top eight from the league phase in the round of 16.

The first legs of these matches are scheduled for the 11th and 12th of February 2025, with the return legs taking place on the 18th and 19th of February 2025. Each club will play once on a Tuesday and once on a Wednesday.

The New Diplomat reports that the matchups bring together a mix of traditional powerhouses like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich with teams that have shown remarkable form in the league phase, such as Atalanta and Sporting CP.

Notably, Manchester City, the current champions from England, are set to face off against Real Madrid.

The draw was conducted at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, where teams were allocated based on their league phase rankings.
