  • Supporters Troop to Welcome Him Back…

By Abiola Olawale

Mudashiru Obasa, the impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has broken silence, publicly challenging his removal.

Obasa also denied corruption allegations that were said to be the basis of his impeachment.

He insisted that the lawmakers did not adhere to proper constitutional procedures during his ousting.

Obasa addressed these concerns on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Speaker’s Lodge in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, where he was met with support from his constituency.

He described the allegations of financial misappropriation as “impossible” and stated that he remains undeterred by the recent events.

This comes after the Lagos State House of Assembly impeached him over accusations of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and financial mismanagement, including claims of spending N17 billion on a gate to the Assembly complex, which Obasa dismissed as politically motivated.
