The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that all visa applications will transition to a fully online system by March 1, 2025.

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made this announcement during a live session on ‘X Spaces’ hosted by influencer, Dr. Segun Awosanya, highlighting the strides being made to centralize and streamline Nigeria’s visa processes.

While unveiling a centralized visa approval centre, the minister noted that it’s aimed at enhancing uniformity, curbing corruption, and bolstering national security.

Tunji-Ojo described the move as a defining moment in the history of visa application in the country.

“This is a game changer”, he remarked emphasizing its role in eliminating loopholes that foster fraud and inefficiency.

Adding to these technological milestones, the minister revealed the establishment of an 8.3-petabyte data center at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex, positioning Nigeria among global leaders in data security and innovation.

“This new era of digital transparency not only signals a commitment to modern governance but also cements the administration’s dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and reputation.” Tunji-Ola said.
