Oleksandr Usyk has defeated Tyson Fury in their heavyweight championship rematch to retain his titles.

The New Diplomat reports that Usyk won by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the bout 116-112 in his favor.

The latest victory followed Usyk’s earlier win over Fury in May, where he became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 24 years.

The rematch took place on December 21, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to the judges, Usyk’s performance was marked by his speed, accuracy, and tactical acumen, outboxing the much larger Fury over 12 rounds.

Reacting to his defeat, Fury insisted Usyk got an early Christmas gift from the judges.

He maintained that he won the match even though the match was scored 116-112 by all three officials in a unanimous decision.

The New Diplomat reports also that the 36-year-old Fury was unbeaten until he first met Usyk in their four-belt unification fight in May.

Following the latest loss, Fury departs Riyadh’s Kingdom Arena with two defeats on his record.

He stated after the defeat: “Listen, it is what it is. I’m not going to cry over spilt milk, it’s happened now.

“I know boxing, I’ve been in it all my life — you can’t change no decisions. But I feel a little bit hard done by, actually a lot.

“There was a little bit of Christmas spirit in there. He got a little Christmas gift.”
