In a bold move to deepen agricultural collaboration between the Netherlands and Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Bengt van Loosdrecht, the Dutch Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Inge Tenniglo, Agricultural Counsellor, and Netherlands Embassy representatives visited the newly inaugurated learning site at Abuja
University, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Established by East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation, it is a project that is helping to deepen the Dutch-Nigerian cooperation and collaboration in agriculture.

Indeed, earlier in November, the site event was graced by wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Lady Nana Kassim Shettima.

The site highlights efforts to continue empowering over 187,000 farmers annually thus far through sustainable vegetable farming and innovation.

The New Diplomat reports that the East-West Seed was established over 40 years ago. It is a global leader in tropical vegetable seeds dedicated to improving the lives of smallholder farmers.

The company’s mission is to provide innovative seeds and services that help improve the livelihood of tropical vegetable farmers and promote sustainable farming and business practices.
