Chelsea demonstrated their strong bid for a top-four finish by decisively overpowering a struggling Aston Villa team at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues took no time to take the lead in the first half as striker Nicholas Jackson put them in front after finding the net in the seventh minute.

Jackson scored his eighth goal of the 2024/25 Premier League season after turning a fine left-foot volley past Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

Chelsea’s captain, Enzo Fernandez scored the second game, doubling the home side’s lead before the break.

Cole Palmer provided the assist for Fernandez to score his second goal of the season.

Although Aston Villa looked to get back into the game, Palmer’s goal, Chelsea’s third, ensured that the Blues took all three points.

Palmer’s stunning 84th-minute strike makes it the eighth time he found the back of the net this season.
