President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he will participate in the 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) scheduled to be held from November 18 to November 19, 2024.

This was announced in a press statement issued by the presidency on Monday. According to the statement, Tinubu was received by Amb. Breno Costa of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.

The President landed in the company of Amb Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development, and the Minister of Art, Tourism, Culture and Creativity, Hannatu Musawa,

Others are: Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, and Amb. Mohammed Mohammed, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency.

It would be recalled that a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga had detailed that Tinubu is attending the summit at the instance of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The summit is expected to bring together leaders from the world’s largest economies to discuss critical global issues.

Onanuga also confirmed that Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit in advancement of Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms and strategic national interests.
